I thought 2026 would be the last one… but it was all just TOO MUCH FUN, so we float and ground again in 2027.

Join us by the sea in Ahangama for a week that’s equal parts salty surf and serious chill. Warm waves and your body feeling that post sea goodness.

Mornings are for surfing the tropical breaks (or, let’s be honest, tumbling around in them – both count and are very fun too). Afternoons are dedicated to pure restoration in the dreamy shala - fully stocked with props. It’s the yang and yin dream team – the retreat I’ve always wanted to go on but could never find… so I made it happen for you!

Food is a big love here too. The breakfasts at Lotus Surf House are genuinely the best I’ve ever had, and evenings are for slow dinners and long chats with one another. Having spent the last six years coming back to this spot, I’ve got plenty of local gems up my sleeve too - keeping plenty of surprises to unveil in the week we are there.

Lotus was originally a home and really feels like one to me - all the bedrooms opening onto the communal lounge space really helps the group energy foster - and also means that spaces for this intimate retreat are mega limited and it has been full the last two years it has run. So lmk if you are joining us - by either paying in full OR a non refundable deposit of £350 via the buttons below and then a payment plan.

5 surf lessons Monday to Friday: Whether you're a beginner or an experienced surfer, our professional instructors will guide you through the warm, inviting waves of the south coast stunning beaches and reef breaks.
Surfing in a swimsuit is just the best feeling ever - the warm waters are just like nothing else. Learn not only about yourself on a board but how to read the ocean too AND each session is wrapped with a video analysis so you can really see yourself and your “cute” habits.
Expect an abundance of longer practices to soothe tired bodies and rejuvenate. It is what you need after a surf, trust me.
Have a dip in the glorious pool at Lotus, grab your non fiction and head to “secret beach”, nap in the AC, lounge with the dogs, head on out and get your fave clothes remade by a local tailor - your time, your choice.
Oh the beds! Soooo comfy - exactly what we need after surfing, all with AC in the rooms and each room has an en suite shower with hot water (not a given in Sri Lanka). If you are in a shared room then you’ll be with one other - separate beds ofc.
Enjoy delicious, healthy meals prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our menu is designed to nourish your body and complement your active lifestyle, expect huge post surf brunches, and dinners that really hit the spot.. Dare I say these breakfasts are the best breakfasts I have ever had? both gangs in 2025 and 2026 agreed - you want a seat at the table - you know what to do!
We will also venture out to experience the best local food there is on a couple of evenings.
UYou have one treatment at the in house spa included- I am going to warn you that you’ll want another though, there are some special healing hands there.
Connect with like-minded individuals in a supportive and welcoming environment, this retreat is very intentionally kept small - so you’ll know everybody’s name and also be able to take space or quiet when you need.
There is a whatsapp group to meet and chat pre arrival too - so nobody is completely new when we arrive.
Extra local Sri Lankan magic and guest workshops to be revealed during the week. We don’t want to give everything away…. trust us though my time out there has really churned up some goodies and I cannot wait to share them with you

Come along - all experience is welcome, and I am gonna suggest at least practicing with me on demand if not live to make sure I am your kind of yoga sharer.
Yes ofc. There are groups based on experience for surfing. In 2025 all but 2 were beginner level. This is not about being pro level anything. AND ALSO I do recommend you try it before you head out there!
COOL - personally I find I find more value in retreats when I go solo, so don’t be afraid to explore this. The group is small so shouldn’t be an overwhelming number of names to learn.
Yes - we can sort that out - book the solo room for now to secure it and we can fix the second spot down the line - will be same price as a shared room.
Fly to Sri Lanka then get a train or taxi to our retreat house.
Whats not included:
Flights to Sri Lanka, (fly to Colombo airport)
Travel insurance, (we dont want to use it and also we must have this)
Transfers to Ahangama, train with scenic views or a speedier calmer taxi ride - your choice
Any onward travel, obvs.
